An agricultural Urban Blanket floats over the centre of London which grows white food; predominantly potatoes and wheat, amongst others, which forms part of our staple diet. The Urban Blanket consists of a rooftop lace-structure which dock helium filled pixels. The agricultural fields inhabit the pixels which rise and fall throughout the day to create a new envelope over London, providing both micro-climate and food for its inhabitants. They rise and fall to alter the climate in the city below, to allow for maximum comfort. Food is harvested from the pixels and sold at selected Circle Line stations which become Gates to the new city. The Farringdon gate is the Ministry of Agriculture. Hyde Park, St. James’s Park and Green Park are flooded to enable fish farming.
